Elijah Schwinn, my nephew, was recently involved in a devastating accident at his track meet when he was struck in the face by a discus. The impact was severe, and after being stabilized at Aurora Green Bay, he was transported to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee for specialized care. The situation was critical, and our family was overwhelmed with worry as Elijah underwent emergency treatment.
After the initial care, we learned that Elijah would be permanently blind in his right eye. Despite this life-changing news, Elijah has shown a level of courage and strength that continues to amaze us all. He faces multiple surgeries to reconstruct his shattered ocular and nasal structures and to remove numerous bone fragments. Through it all, Elijah remains the same bright, funny, and resilient person, lifting the spirits of everyone around him.
The funds raised will go directly toward Elijah's medical bills and the ongoing travel expenses for his surgeries and checkups at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. We are so grateful for your prayers, support, and for sharing Elijah's story. Your help means the world to our family as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for standing with Elijah and helping us give him the best care possible.
