Support Elijah's Heart Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
This is my nephew Elijah. He was born with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot, causing a hole in his heart, and had his first heart surgery when he was 3 months old. Unfortunately, now at age 15, him and my sister (Ciara) went in for what they thought was a routine cardiologist appointment. Elijah got a ekg, MRI and echo and to our surprise we were told that there was a leak that had significantly increased and his lower right chamber had gotten a lot worse. We were told he would need open heart surgery to replace the pulmonary valve to stop the leak and to remove some muscle from his lower right chamber to help it to function or his heart would fail, and if it were to reach that extent he would need a heart transplant. So April 21st he underwent his second open-heart surgery. His parents, Ciara and Michael, are both doing their best to take care of Elijah and his 6 siblings. Ciara is a stay at home mom and Michael is their main source of income. Unfortunately with him having to be off work to help Elijah recover and take care of his family they are left with no income for this time being. We are starting this GoFundMe to be able to help with Elijah’s further care at home and medical expenses and to help with their living expenses so that both mom and dad can focus on Elijah healing and their family. We greatly appreciate any contribution ! Thank you so much !
