Support Elias's Recovery After Tragic Shooting

Elias was released from the hospital yay! He still has a long recovery ahead of him. He is one heck of a fighter. All the help is so appreciated. Dan had a dead battery today and this made all the difference. sharing please!

Elias is still at the hospital :(

He had a procedure to remove an abscess and infected fluids. He now has a drainage tube inside him until it seizes...hopefully soon. He is in a lot of pain in his left foot from nerve damage, but his tummy is not in pain and other wounds such as entry exit and surgery incisions are healing quite well. Hello! I am reaching out for help on behalf of Elias and his father Dan. Please read on from Dan:

Asking for prayers. My first born son Elias was a victim in a shooting on November 29 which has taken everything out of me spiritually mentally and physically. He has come a long way. Elias was hit by a stray bullet 9mm in an altercation involving 3 youths . All are incarcerated and one other boy was injured .

Elias took a shot hiding behind a couch it went through one boy and through the couch and got my son in the abdomen and went through his small intestine and out his bottom side . Elias just turned 12 on Friday the 20th and He's a very amazing little boy. his heart and spirit is so amazing and he's made a tremendous start to his recovery. there will be many hurdles to

cross ..and challenges ahead. we have so many that love and care and support him . Once I heard about this accident I cannot explain the heartache and terror and confusion and sadness that still is ongoing, of why and how this kind of thing could happen , careless wreckless sad and although unintentional, makes me sick to my stomach this happened to him and to the other boy and all the kids. This happens every day because of improper gun safety and poor parenting . I'm in an ambulance as we speak headed back to Milwaukee children's hospital with him ..I just spent 3 weeks bedside to get him home and now we are headed back because a simple flu bug. All your prayers to him. he's stronger than I'll ever be. Extra love is always good. Merry Christmas to all of you and hold the ones you love tight everyday . Elias had to have another surgery due to an abscess, and he will likely be spending Christmas at Children's Hospital. He has been through so much. Dan is hoping to have help with making Christmas a little brighter as well as will be facing medical bills and follow up appointments. Anything will help this little boy on his long journey of recovery. God bless!
