Hello friends and family,

On Sunday April 19th Elias unexpectedly experienced a medical emergency and he was rushed to UNM hospital. The illness progressed very quickly, from onset of symptoms to being put on a ventilator within a 12 hour span.

4-30-26 We wanted to share an update on Elias. He is currently stable but remains in critical condition. He still requires a ventilator to help him breathe, and we unfortunately still don’t have clear answers about what caused him to become so sick. The incredible team at UNM has worked tirelessly, running countless tests, but so far results have come back normal or inconclusive. They believe what he is experiencing is very rare.

We are deeply grateful to the amazing staff at UNM for saving our son’s life and caring for him so compassionately. There are no words to fully express our thanks.

Today, Elias will be transported to Denver Children’s Hospital as we take the next step in this long journey toward recovery.
