Support Eli Kring's Dream to March with Seattle Cascades

Hello!

My name is Eli Kring, and I am a 2024 graduate of Brownsburg High School. In my time there I was a member of the Bowling team, and also a member of Marching Band.

I discovered my love of music very early. At 7 years old I started guitar lessons, and it took off from there. I played trombone and baritone in various bands in school.

Since graduating, I have almost completed my first year at Ball State, where I’m going for a Music Education degree. I’m also on the Marching band at Ball State.

A dream of mine is to march in Drum Corps. I’ve wanted to do this for several years, and this year I finally got the nerve to try out. I have been asked to be a member of the Seattle Cascades, and I couldn’t be more excited!

However, marching in drum corps is not free. In fact, I am expected to pay around $6,000 total for my summer with the corps. Last summer I did work and save all I could, but most of that has gone to college expenses such as books and items needed to succeed.

Drum Corps will teach me so much more than I’ve already learned. I will get to know much more about my instrument and my craft. As a future educator, I hope it will help me to encourage others to try for their dreams, as I’m doing now. I’m looking very forward to this opportunity.

Anything you can give will help me for the 2025 DCI marching season. While I know you get a lot of requests for things like this, I hope that my story has introduced me and my needs well. Any amount would be so very helpful.
