Meet Eleni Guesh, a determined 17-year-old with an unwavering passion for making a positive impact on the world. Born in Hawassa on February 9, 2007, to her wonderful parents, Genet and Guesh, Eleni's life has been a journey shaped by both adversity and commitment, leading her to a purpose-driven path.
Growing up in Hawassa, Eleni experienced joy until a pivotal moment altered the course of her family's life, prompting them to relocate to Addis Ababa and setting her on a new trajectory aligned with her purpose. Despite facing challenges, Eleni'sfather, originally from a rural region in Ethiopia, managed to establish himself as a respected figure in the community and at Hawassa University. However, tragedy struck when a medical error befell him, shattering everything he had built.
This event ignited a fire within Eleni to become the doctor her father failed to have, fueling her determination to rise above any obstacle. She aspires not only to heal people from illness but also to champion patient safety, advocate for every life, and revolutionize the healthcare system.
Recently, Eleni has been offered a scholarship to attend a prestigious school-United World Colleges (UWC), a crucial step towards realizing her dream of becoming a doctor. However, this scholarship only covers 90% of the tuition fees, leaving her family unable to bridge the remaining 10%. Yet, Eleni refuses to let financial constraints hinder her aspirations.
I can attest to the transformative power of opportunities like the UWC scholarship. Having personally experienced its profound impact, I've seen firsthand how it can shape individuals into compassionate, globally-minded leaders. It's a reminder that education knows no bounds and can transcend financial barriers. I encourage you not to let finances stand in the way of seizing such opportunities. Together, let's ensure that everyone has the chance to pursue their dreams and make a difference in the world, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Eleni wholeheartedly believes in her potential to achieve her goals but needs support to overcome this financial hurdle. Any contribution would be immensely appreciated and would bring her one step closer to fulfilling her dream. Thank you for considering this request, and Eleni is deeply grateful for any assistance in helping her reach her goals. Together, we can make a difference.
