Update (October):
As you know, my sister — Elene Mitaishvili, 25 years old, was severely injured while snowboarding on March 4.
Due to multiple fractures in her cervical vertebrae and a spinal cord injury, Elene underwent an emergency and complex spinal surgery in Georgia, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Thanks to your support, she was able to complete a six-month rehabilitation course in Turkey. Elene has already overcome the first and most difficult stage, but the road to full recovery is still long. She still has not regained sensation in her legs, and movement in her hands remains limited.
To continue her rehabilitation and help Elene fully recover, we once again need your support.
The cost of the next rehabilitation course is $130,000.
Your involvement and encouragement are crucial, whether through financial assistance or simply by sharing this post. I truly believe that with your continued help, we can achieve anything. Every bit of Elene’s progress is the result of your support, and each of you is part of this fight.
We’re so grateful for your support . Together, we can keep making progress!

Hi, my name is Mariam and I'm reaching out to ask for help for the most important person in my life — my 24-year-old sister, Elene Mitaishvili.
On March 4th, Elene was seriously injured while snowboarding. She suffered multiple cervical spine fractures and swelling of the spinal cord. In Georgia, at St. Michael's Hospital, she underwent emergency spinal surgery, during which the fifth and sixth cervical vertebrae were completely replaced with titanium implants. Additionally, posterior fixation was performed on the fourth, fifth, seventh cervical vertebrae and first thoracic vertebra.
At this stage, Elene has a loss of sensation in her legs, and the movement in her arms is limited and not fully restored.
Unfortunately, there is no opportunity for proper rehabilitation in Georgia, and the only option is to transfer her abroad. To recover and regain her ability to walk, Elene must undergo a specialized rehabilitation program at a clinic in Turkey, which lasts for 6 months and costs $180,000. The amount must be raised as soon as possible to avoid any delay in starting the treatment, as with this type of injury, every day lost significantly reduces the chances of full recovery.
I never thought I would have to write such a post, and I know it will not be easy for my sister to read that we are asking for help, but we have no other choice.
We are relying on your support and Elene’s bravery so that she can soon return to her normal life, to her favorite activities, and to us — her family and friends, who miss her dearly.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to getting Elene the care she needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your support!
