Support Elena's Journey to a Masters Degree

Hi! My name is Elena, I’m 21 years old and I’m graduating from Loyola University Chicago this year with a bachelors in both Psychology and Women Studies & Gender Studies. I have the grand dream of becoming a professor one day which means that I need to pursue a masters degree and then a PhD. I’m trying to get a head start on this by getting my masters right after I’m done with my undergraduate degree but this is a large financial burden given that I’m only able to work part time right now as a student. This is especially true given that the program I am pursuing is one of the best programs for my masters and is in the UK. This means that I need to save money not only to start the degree itself but for a visa and living expenses. Besides my career aspirations, It’s extremely important to me that I get this degree because I would be the first person in my family to be pursuing (and subsequently achieving) a masters degree as I am both a first generation college student and American! It would also just be an amazing opportunity on a personal and career level to be able to say that I got my masters degree in London because it would be able to broaden my world view in a way that I couldn’t do if I just stayed in the United States for the rest of my life.
