Hi, friends. I have created this campaign on behalf of my best friend, Kelcie, her husband Sean and their sweet family, who could really use some extra help right now.

Kelcie and Sean's 4-year-old daughter, Eleanor, will be having open-heart surgery in early October. She was born with congenital heart defects that weren't discovered until last year. It turns out that Ellie has two large atrial septal defects (holes in the wall between the upper chambers of her heart) along with a condition called partial anomalous pulmonary venous return. This means that some of the veins that should carry oxygen-rich blood into the left side of her heart are instead connected to the right side, forcing her heart to work much harder than it should. Basically, her little heart has been working overtime, and this surgery will repair it so she can grow up healthy and strong.

As you can imagine, the medical and life expenses around this are overwhelming. The funds raised here will help ease the financial stress so her parents can focus on Ellie's healing.
