Dear friends,

As many of you know, I was laid off in October of 2025. Since then, I have been living off my small 401K, which I cashed in. That money is dwindling. There are a couple places I can go if I lose my ability to pay rent, but I would like to keep that from happening, if I can, and to stay in my own home.

So, here I am. I need help. The meager savings I once had were used to move from Tokyo back to the US.

Now, I am carrying a lot of debt from medical bills, from last year and continuing into this year; I am unemployed; I have an even larger tax bill than the one I got last year; and just want to stay home a bit longer in hopes of some job giving me a chance and discovering they need an Eleanor like me on staff. Also, the financial help would give me a bit longer to put together a plan B if I need to—becoming a freelancer doing enough contract gigs to make (hopefully) a living.

I know these are hard times for a lot of people, so I am going into this with low expectations. But if you have a bit and could help, I would be ever so grateful.
