Eleanor's Marathon Fundraiser

Hi friends! On May 4th, I'll be running the Vancouver BMO Marathon (yes, the full 26.2 miles / 42.2km!) and am raising money for the BC Parks Foundation. Please help keep my legs moving by donating and supporting a great cause along the way!

If you've known me for a while, you'll know I'm not a natural athlete, not helped by some physical limitations I've had since I was born that impact my muscle functioning in my right leg (known affectionately by some as 'little flipper' - yes, that's a Finding Nemo reference), making running difficult and uncomfortable.

Before moving to Vancouver I would have never dreamed of signing up to a marathon. But, my persuasive friends (pictured) have inspired me to push my boundaries and see how far I can get. (The company on my runs and post-run coffee and spa dates definitely help with the motivation!)

As part of my training, I've run along beaches, explored forests and waterfalls and hiked up mountains. The ability to explore the nature around Vancouver has been part of my inspiration to run, and so in the spirit of giving back I've decided to raise funds for the BC Parks Foundation. Their mission is to connect people with nature and work to conserve and protect outdoor spaces - and if you live in or have been to BC, you'll know it's worth protecting!

The suggested donation amounts are set by the website, but I’d appreciate any contribution you feel able to make. Even a small amount individually can go a long way, together :)

Thank you for supporting me and this cause - and for those in the UK, you'll just have to come visit me to see what I'm talking about ;)
