Support Elderly Brothers Displaced by Flood
I am the older sister, Sarah Wines, of two elderly brothers, Richard and James Wines, who have lost everything they own when their home flooded them out as Hurricane Helene hit with 10-15 ft ocean and storm water surges in the middle of the night on September 26 in New Port Richey, Florida.
Luckily, they survived by escaping to a nearby shelter where they spent the night, but have no home to return to. Their rental home was completely devastated, ruining what little they already had of furniture, clothing, shoes, appliances, and food. One is unable to work due to disability and the other had a part-time job as a butcher which is now in jeopardy.
We are desperately trying to raise funds to help them get back on their feet again. The fundraising goal is to get sufficient funds to move them into a new rental unit, provide basic furnishings, clothing, food, toiletries, basic appliances, to move into a new place as soon as possible. I will be the recipient of the funds, and will be managing their use as every need arises.
We thank our friends and family for all of your support, understanding that we are not the only ones in need right now. Hurricane Helene has been devastating to many.
