At 87-years of age elder iye Tahirah AbuBakr is paused to receive a honorary doctorate degree from Aimlay University. Aimlay is a global education platform empowering academic and experiential learners, uniquely focusing on recognizing knowledge gained through experience and building a vibrant community of doctorates and aspiring researchers. Iye Tahirah was chosen because at 87-years of age she continues to serve others, especially the emerging generations with the necessary tools to shape a culture of peace. For more than fifty years she has dedicated herself to uplifting humanity through African and Native American traditions. Her background and experiences are extensive in the areas of counseling, applied anthropological research methods and techniques, as well as teaching & training, and service to adults and youth.
