Our sweet Elanora suffered a spinal injury on May 27th, bulging/annular tear of discs, bone spurs and degeneration of the spine. This has happened because she has inherited a degenerative disc disease from me, and it is a rare thing for her to be so young and be affected by this. She spent five days in the hospital following her injury, undergoing intensive treatment and evaluation. Since then, she’s continued to show incredible strength and determination and her neurosurgeon expects 80-90% chance of recovery without out surgery. However, she’ll need at least six months of physical therapy to make sure her vibrant and bubbly self is able to return to school normally for her first year of junior high.
While we are incredibly thankful that Nora is stable and making progress in her recovery, the journey ahead is long and financially overwhelming. We’re struggling to meet her insurance deductible and out-of-pocket costs, and unfortunately, several hospital claims have been denied, leaving us with unexpected medical bills we simply can’t manage on our own.
We're reaching out to our community, friends, family, and anyone who can help, to ease the financial burden on our family. Every donation will make a difference in helping with Nora's recovery, and go directly to medical and travel expenses.
It cost 400$ a month for Nora to do the physical therapy she needs, and thats after insurances part.
If you’re not in a position to give, we’d be grateful if you could share this page with others! Thank you for lifting up our girl and for your kindness and generosity. We’ll keep you updated as Elanora continues her recovery journey.
