Support Elaine through her treatment

Thank you for stopping by our fundraiser and considering helping our cause. My name is Brianna Shrader and I have started this campaign for Elaine King.

Elaine and I met over 11 years ago and over those years she has become family to me. She is a core member of my business; someone I don't make decisions without and who has been there since before day 1. She is my ally, my friend, my confidant, my family, and someone who has helped take care of me many times. Now it's my turn to help take care of her.

Elaine was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I don't think I need to elaborate on the gravity of that diagnosis but I will share what this means for Elaine's financial situation and why we are working hard to help her through this. Almost as soon as she was diagnosed Elaine had to stop working. She has had appointment after appointment with specialist after specialist, test after test, all just to figure out a plan of action. She has been unable to work already and has not even been able to begin her actual treatment yet because of all the tests and appointments required to put a plan in place. This means the financial strain has already begun. State disability will not be enough to pay her standard bills and the medical bills that have already begun piling up.

Elaine has a major surgery ahead of her as well as 6 months of chemotherapy and radiation. Elaine is a warrior - and we do believe that's all she will need, we believe she will get through this. Our goal is to take the stress of finances off her shoulders so that she can focus on the war she has already begun waging against the enemy in her body. We need to bring financial relief to her as soon as possible.

To know Elaine is to love her. She can make you laugh until you pee your pants, or simply sit and listen and guide. She is a gentle soul with a whole lot of feisty on the side. She is sugar and spice... and we love her so very much.
