Support Elaine Branch's Care and Well-being

Donation protected
Hello friends and family!

Many of you know my mother, Elaine Branch, as a neighbor, a friend, a relative or through me. Some of my friends call her their “Other Mother”, and her former students know her as Mrs. Branch!

Our Situation
She is approaching 86 this October, and while she has no terminal illness (cancer, heart disease, diabetes), Elaine has been experiencing greater difficulty with dementia and Alzheimer’s symptoms the last few years. With increasing confusion, frailty and rapid, significant weight loss the cost of her care needs have exceeded what we currently have available.

A Brief Overview
After recovering from 2 strokes 5 years ago she was in a Senior Assisted Living facility for 3 years, and remarkably, was able to return home (2 years ago this Autumn).

When her Long Term Care funds were exhausted, I left my full time position at National Holistic Institute to care for her and start my own massage therapy practice. We have a caregiver 12 hours a week - and the rest of the time it’s been just myself to care for my mother.

We just now are starting hospice care (which has been a blessing for support), and have support from neighbors and local food bank supplements our groceries.

Help is on the way
In September, funds will be available to resume paying for all cost of living expenses and for care she will need.

How You Can Assist Us
August is our shortfall month. Our credit card is maxed out and our finances are tapped. I’m asking for your help.

Your donation will go to:
  • Paying PG&E
  • Putting gas in may car so I can go to work
  • Paying Life Insurance and Car insurance
  • Paying her caregiver
  • Phone / Internet
  • Groceries

The sum total comes to $2,000.

With your support we can bridge the gap until September.

I know many of us are facing personal and financial struggles right now. If you are unable to help financially, or would like to support in additional ways please consider the following options:

  • Visiting - If you are in the area, reach out and set up a time to say hello! It would lift Elaine’s spirits, and mine. If you are distant, we can set up a video or phone call through me.
  • Home Made Goodies - A favorite dish or baked good would be a lovely comfort and support me in meal preparation for my mom between work and caregiving.
  • Book A Massage with Me - My peaceful and beautiful home studio is here for you to feel better! I’d love to book a 60 or 90 minute session. Your business directly supports our family. Quiet Harbor Massage

Thank you!

Sincerely, Valerie Branch
