My niece, Elaina Bryant, just turned 18 on January 25th. Only two days later, on January 27th, she was involved in a devastating head-on collision. The accident was so severe that she had to be cut out of the car, and she suffered extensive injuries: a broken right shoulder, a broken left femur, right ulna and radius fractures, five broken bones in her left hand, her right foot broken in three places, a fracture behind her left ear, a bleed on her brain, bleeding around her stomach, a blown left kneecap, and more. Elaina has already undergone a couple of surgeries, and unfortunately, she still has a few more ahead of her. The doctors have told us that after her surgeries, she will need to spend at least 30 days in rehabilitation to begin her long road to recovery.

Elaina’s parents are doing everything they can, but like so many families, they struggle to make ends meet. The costs of medical care, surgeries, and the extended rehab are overwhelming, and insurance will only cover so much. We want to make sure Elaina has everything she needs to recover—whether it’s medical bills, equipment for her rehabilitation, medications, or any other support that will help her heal and regain her independence.
