Update and a new plea on behalf of our Mom, Eileen Durbin:

As most of you know, Momma has been fighting stage 4 esophageal and stomach cancer for the past year. She has taken the chemo treatments like a trooper but is getting tired. She is still staying positive, but it can be difficult for her at times. The one chemo had given her neuropathy in her hands and feet, which makes it difficult to function at times with stable walking and typing on her computer at work.

She is our rock and such a strong, kind woman and so special to so many people. She continues to stay positive each and every day.

As most of you know, her doctor is not giving much hope for her to survive this demon, but our Mom is not accepting the words “terminal!”

She recently decided to get a second opinion and met with doctors from Moffitt Cancer Research Center in Tampa, FL. They have said there may be hope by offering her two procedures. The first would be to insert chemo laparoscopically around the stomach outer wall to treat the floating cancer cells outside the stomach. Once that is inserted and it is time, they would then surgically remove her stomach (which is similar to a gastric bypass surgery).

With the new year approaching, Mom's deductibles are high and we are asking for any assistance you can give to cover her time missed from work she may encounter due to the surgeries and her medical expenses.

No amount is too small and all donations are appreciated. Your kindness this past year, along with your prayers, support, and generosity, have helped elevate our financial stress/burden.
