Support Eileen Aubert's Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Humbly asking if you can help Eileen Aubert, beloved sister, wife, mother, and
grandmother.

Eileen’s story: In March of 2024, Eileen was having difficulties with her eyesight, mobility, and cognitive functions. After admitting her into the hospital and running multiple screens and tests, it was discovered she had multiple aneurysms in her brain, and one notable life-threatening Basilar Aneurysm located near her brainstem, nearly the size of a blueberry.

After consulting numerous doctors, brain surgeons, and medical professionals, a medical team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago decided it was too risky to remove the aneurysms. Eileen's neurosurgeon Dr. Matthew Potts focused on positioning a stent and rerouting the nerves and blood flow to relieve pressure on her brain. The surgery was successful on July 31st, but Eileen's road to recovery has not stopped.

Stroke-like symptoms are part of Eileen’s rehabilitation now, as her body finds its way toward healing. She will continue to need multiple years of rehabilitation therapy and expensive medicines, which is a balancing act from day-to-day. Some days she can speak more clearly than others and she can walk slowly with a walker under careful supervision. Her husband, Paul, takes care of her while working from home, as she cannot be left alone now due to her limited mobility with post-surgery symptoms, which are likely to last 6-months to a year. She has recently been diagnosed with Thrombosis, which has complicated her recovery and further aggravated her stroke-like symptoms as her body heals.

With a single-working member in the family, the medical bills and financial stress has been hurting Paul and Eileen. There is great financial need to pay existing hospital bills which have grown to nearly $25,000. In order to keep Eileen on track with the medicines she needs, therapy sessions, and daily finances, we are asking for help.

Despite the rough road ahead, Eileen and Paul are in good spirits with strong faith. They are not ones to ask for help, so we came together as a family to create this GoFundMe for them.

If you are able to donate any amount of money, whether it be a dollar or two, it would help. The outpouring of love and support we have received thus far has kept our family in bright spirits as we work with Eileen to ensure her road to recovery is efficient and as comfortable as possible.

Thank you for your support and god bless you.
