Support Ehmi Khid Dance studies in Écoles des Sables

Donation protected
Greetings everyone,

My name is Ehmi Khid Emmanuel Anosike, and I am a Nigerian dance artist working in West Africa (currently in Ghana). For the past 12 years, I have poured my heart into dance, immersing myself in studying, choreographing, performing, teaching, and building community. Driven by passion and goals, I have trained and thrived as a dancer and choreographer across diverse styles—commercial, classical, contemporary and African traditional dances. I embrace the beauty of fusing styles, and the freedom of improvisation, which has shaped my unique artistic identity. As a cultural ambassador, I proudly showcase Nigeria's rich heritage to everyone I meet.

I am excited to share that I have been selected as one of the 25 dancers from Africa and the diaspora to participate in the Afrique Diaspora “L'imaginaire Noir” training program, at École des Sables located in Senegal from May 5 to July 12, 2025.
École des Sables is a prestigious International Centre for Traditional and Contemporary African Dances founded by legendary Germaine Acogny (mother of Contemporary African Dance).
This training offers a unique immersion experience and an enriching exchange of techniques, knowledge, and creativity.
Participating in this program will enable me to enhance my skills as a dancer, explore new forms of expression, and build valuable connections with other artists both on the continent and internationally.
It’d be such a privilege taking this course and I believe it will enrich my practice as a dancer, choreographer and as a teacher greatly.
However, I would need your precious help to fundraise for program costs and fees.

At the moment, I am trying hard to find possible grants or scholarships through my network of contacts, but financial support in this side of the world is more rare and uncertain.
This is also a reason why I ask for the care of my loved ones and friends around the globe right now.

I am a working artist in dance education who does not make much money or come from wealth. I moved to Ghana in January 2025 for research purposes and as I am new here, work hasn't been stable. In fact, for the past 3 months I have mostly volunteered. I gathered a group of kids in one of the underserved communities of Accra, to whom I teach dance once a week during school time and almost every day during vacation time to spread the true art of dance and give them a platform to showcase their talent.

€3,700 is needed to cover tuition fees and round-trip plane tickets to Senegal.
Which means that I need to be able to raise as much funds as possible before the ending of April (God willing).

As you can imagine, I cannot cover these fees alone in that short time frame, I need your support as I take the next step to grow in my craft. I cannot do this without you: the people who guide and hold me as a young artist and the people who feel inspired or impacted by me. <3

Why am I launching this crowdfunding campaign?
The costs associated with training and travel represent a significant financial investment. Therefore, I am reaching out for your support. The funds raised will help cover:
✈️ My flight tickets - 700€
€ Training costs - 3000€ (including lodge and food)

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to realizing this dream. If you believe in my project and would like to support me, please consider donating and sharing this crowdfunding campaign with others.

If you can’t donate over GoFundMe, please contact us to send donations via others means.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
