Support Egg's Journey to Health

Hello, I'm Sabrina and I'm raising funds for my kitty Egg.

Like many people, my kitty saved my life and now, its time to save hers.

I got egg when she was a baby, and in a lot of ways so was I. It was the summer between my sophomore and junior year of undergrad, I was living in a home that was difficult for me in a lot of ways. When I was finally allowed to get a cat, I went to the local shelter which had a kitten room.

Egg walked right up to me and didn't leave my side again. I picked her up and she rumbled her purr at me and moved around playfully. Even when my mother told me to see how I connected with the other kittens, Egg stayed right by my side, as if to say "I know you're mine". And she was right, I was. I brought her home that day and we connected immediately.

Even though those early years saw some fantastically awful smelling shits, she was everything I needed. She helped me get out of bed when I was at my lowest, he loved me when I felt unloveable and proved that I could love in return. She helped me build the confidence to move out on my own, because I wouldn't have to be alone. There has not been a day since I got her that I haven't left my bed because I always needed to get up and take care of my Eggy, which if you've experienced depression you know how impressive that is.

As she got older she continued to be playful, adorably judgmental, just needy enough, and the absolute best thing that's ever happened to me. She's also been blessedly healthy, even as I have not been.

But now, my Eggo Pop has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after a very scary and long visit to the emergency vet. Apparently, this is the best thing she could have and is treatable, even curable!

The gold standard treatment is radioactive iodine (I know, I know, that sounds terrifying but apparently is less terrifying for cats?) and there's a local clinic to me that will do this treatment for her!
If you happen to want to give Egg or me an early holiday gift, we could use all the help we can get to get her this gold standard treatment (as well as support to pay with the other vet bills related to this such as blood work and other testing). Thank you so much for reading this far and donating and/or sharing to your community.

Whatever is donated over the cost of her vet bills will go to some new comfort items for her (such as toys and cat nip) to make her recovery better and a future treatment fund in case there are further complications.
