I never imagined I would be writing something like this. My sister-in-law, Efrecinia Bondoc Santiago, is currently in the ICU, fighting for her life and receiving ongoing medical care. Although she is my sister-in-law, she has truly become a part of our family, always helping each other through thick and thin. Our family is taking things one moment at a time—hoping, praying, and holding onto strength we didn’t know we had.

Efrecinia recently had emergency brain surgery to remove a dangerous blood clot caused by bleeding in the back of her head. The surgery was done to save her life, and while it was successful, it marks the beginning of a long and uncertain recovery journey. Seeing the woman who has always been the source of love, strength, and comfort lying in an ICU bed is heartbreaking beyond words. Between emergency surgery, intensive care, constant monitoring, medications, and ongoing treatment, the medical expenses have quickly become overwhelming for our family. Right now, our greatest wish is to focus on healing without the added stress of how we will manage the mounting hospital bills.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical expenses and continued care, and will help ease the heavy burden our family is carrying during this painful time.
