Support Edwin's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Ray Maestas. I am the manager of an agricultural research farm in Dinuba, Ca. I am fundraising on behalf of a colleague, Edwin Foronda. Edwin has worked with us at the farm for the past 8 years. Edwin is not employed directly by the company I work for but is hired through a farm labor contractor to do all the vitally important jobs that are needed for a farm to operate. He is one of the longest tenured people here and has become like family over the years. About 6 weeks ago, Edwin suffered an aortic aneurism rupture in his heart that required emergency surgery at Stanford University Hospital to repair. After he was stabilized, he required subsequent surgeries to repair several blockages, but now, thankfully is on the long road to recovery. Unfortunately, being out of work all this time has put a strain on his family's finances. Medical bills, household bills, travel for his family to visit him in Stanford, recuperation in a care facility, etc. have become significant, especially for an hourly employee with very little leave benefits. I would like to see if we as a community could come together to help Edwin and his family out and make his recovery a little smoother by taking some of those financial worries away. Besides being a kind and personable man with great character and a great work ethic, Edwin is a genuinely good person and deserving of help. In these trying economic times, anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. However, if you are unable to give, a share of this appeal will absolutely suffice. Thank you for your consideration!
