Edwin has always been a people person, known for his warmth, love of socializing, and strong friendships. Until recently, he enjoyed running his own business, living independently, and staying active in his community. Everything changed when Edwin suffered several strokes and was diagnosed with a brain artery narrowing disease. The impact has been devastating—he has lost his ability to walk and talk, and as a result, he can no longer work. This has led to the loss of his business, apartment, and truck, leaving him in a very vulnerable position.

Edwin now requires 24-hour care, and our family is doing everything we can to support him. I am Edwin’s sister, and together with our mom, I coordinate his care and help manage his daily needs. The financial strain is overwhelming, especially since insurance does not cover the cost of a caregiver. We are paying for this essential support out of pocket, in addition to facing mounting medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and everyday living expenses. Without help, it’s difficult to provide Edwin with the care and stability he needs to recover and maintain his quality of life.
