As we continue on this journey with Alex and Edwin, and meeting with multiple doctors yesterday, time is of the essence. Edwin needs to find a clinical trial or alternative medicine pathway immediately. We are deeply concerned about cost of these remedies. Eventually Alex may not be able to work and they will have very limited income. We thank you for your patience as more continues to be revealed. UPDATE: After speaking with Edwin and Alex, we've gone over the real expenses they're going to incur. As a friend, I didn't realize how long the process may take and their actual medical bills. As many of you may know, my best friend Alexandra’s husband, Edwin, is fighting cancer. They have valued their privacy throughout this journey, but circumstances have changed and they now truly need help.

Alex and Edwin have only been married two short years after waiting a lifetime to find each other. Watching them face this has been heartbreaking. Edwin has been undergoing chemotherapy for weeks, but it is no longer working. He now needs to begin a clinical trial, which will require travel and bring significant additional expenses.

Because Edwin is currently unable to work, Alexandra will be the sole provider on a teacher’s salary while also caring for her husband through treatment. The financial strain is overwhelming, and they cannot get through this alone.
