Stand With Edward: A Father’s Fight for Health, Home, and A New journey to Normal

Most of you know my dad, Edward Biller, as a man of pride, hard work, and deep resilience. But right now, he is in the fight of his life.

Dad is living with a permanently broken back and neck, and 70-80% disc deterioration & is at risk if he falls, lifts, or even sneezes wrong His doctors have been blunt: one trip, one stumble, or one fall could lead to permanent paralysis. He isn't 'recovering' this is a condition he manages every single second of the day from pain to stability to maintain up right and mobile.

Because of life-safety hazards conditions of the house he resides, refusal of cooperative management and unpermitted construction at the home next door vs any attempt to help my dad, Adult Protective Services (APS) has had to step in for the last month and I prior to that I run my own home from Oklahoma and my extra funds so to speak have tapped out. In return reached out to them to have my father taken care of best I can for his well being, My father is currently in an APS-funded hotel stay that expires on May 8th.

While he is displaced out of the house, the landlords are performing unauthorized structural work on the property next door (electrical and major construction—without permits, in direct violation of a City 'Yellow Tag.)They are attempting a Constructive self help Eviction, & attempting to use this time to make the home an ave to harass my dad with unreasonable demands an expectations as well as time frames all while trying to illegally post and improperly serve & force a retaliatory 60-day notice while he’s at his most vulnerable. Without valid reason on a man who has expressed multiple times he’s nowhere to go and can barely move his physical body let alone a house with 19 yrs of his prized possessions.

We are taking this to court to hold them accountable, but legal battles take time that Dad just doesn't have while his housing is at risk. We are creating this GoFundMe to bridge the gap and cover his needs—legal fees, relocation, and safe housing—until this all blows over in court. We just need to keep him safe and stable while we fight the bigger battle for his rights and his home

We have four active cases in Riverside Superior Court (PRRI2600622-625) for Elder Abuse and Retaliatory Eviction. In the middle of this crisis, Dad also discovered his lineage as an Alvitre descendant (BIA #065494). He is fighting to maintain his tenancy on his ancestral lands while the city officials (City Manager and Attorney) remain unresponsive to the illegal work happening at the properties.

I’m stepping up because my dad shouldn’t have to fight for his life and his home at the same time. He’s always been there for his friends and family now it’s our turn to be there for him.
