Hello All!
This year Central Park East High School is offering a Spring Break trip to Portugal and Spain! We are a small school in East Harlem, NYC with students eager to explore the world! We've had numerous successful trips and we want to keep this tradition alive. The trip cost for each student is about $4,000 plus tips and spending money. We are hoping to fundraise enough money to cover all the tips and optional excursions while on tour and we also hope to offer students travel scholarships to help defray the cost.
Thank you so very much for your consideration! The students that have gone on previous trips have a new perspective of life and culture. Many of them have expressed an interest in studying abroad while attending university.
Below is our detailed itinerary that shows the important historical and cultural experiences we will have. Thank you in advance for your support!
Day 1: Fly overnight to Portugal
Day 2: Lisbon
- Meet your Tour Director at the airport
- Take a walking tour of the Alfama district
Day 3: Lisbon
- Take a guided tour of Lisbon
- Tower of Belém
- Padrão dos Descobrimentos
- Visit the Castle of São Jorge
- Visit the Jerónimos Monastery
- Enjoy a photo stop overlooking Lisbon's iconic red-tiled roofs
- Lisbon fado evening
Day 4: Lisbon • Évora • Seville
- Travel via Évora to Seville
- Take a guided tour of Évora
- Visit the Chapel of Bones
Day 5: Seville
- Take a guided tour of Seville
- See the Plaza de España
- Visit the Royal Alcázar
- Visit the Seville Cathedral
- Take a walking tour of Seville
- With your Tour Director you will see:
- La Giralda bell tower
- Torre del Oro
- Plaza de Toros de Maestranza
- Take a Flamenco dance lesson
- See a Flamenco show
Day 6: Seville • Córdoba • Madrid
- Travel via Córdoba to Madrid
- Visit the Mezquita
- Tour Córdoba with an expert local guide
Day 7: Madrid
- Take a tour of Madrid with an expert local guide
- Visit the Royal Palace
- Madrid by bike
Day 8: Madrid
- Visit the Prado Museum
- Take a walking tour of Madrid
- Puerta del Sol
- Plaza Mayor
- Mercado de San Miguel
- Toledo
Day 9: Depart for home
