Islamic schools play a vital role in shaping Muslim children by fostering a confident Islamic identity, strengthening their faith, and supporting their integration into both the Muslim community and the wider society. As the Muslim population of Surrey and Delta continues to grow, the need for strong, faith-based education for our local community is increasing. The school was founded in 2020, beginning with a Junior kindergarten (JK), Kindergarten, and Grade 1, serving just Ten students. In only Four years, the school has grown into a JK–Grade 9 program serving over 90 students with a dedicated team of more than 15 staff members.
The school’s operations are led by our scholar-principal and supported by a team of dedicated Muslim educators and staff. The school is certified by the BC Ministry of Education and has consistently passed annual ministry inspections with strong recommendations. The school prioritizes the educational growth of the students by investing in qualified core subject teachers and supporting them with educational assistants. The school also provides specialized Islamic studies and Qur’an teachers for the students. This strong emphasis on education is guided by the slogan that “the teacher is the school, and the school is the teacher.”
The Al-Mustafa school board is grounded in a strong ethos of responsible growth and responsible spending. Recognizing the need to continue nurturing our students, the school team has boldly expanded to the higher elementary grades and introduced a middle school program in coordination with Rise Academy. School facilities have also been gradually expanded to support this growth, whilst carefully preserving the pristine serenity of the Joe Brown park that surrounds the school campus.
Al-Mustafa school offers a holistic program that views each student as a whole human being, nurturing their spiritual, moral, social, and emotional growth. Students develop a strong enthusiasm for learning, complemented by a deep connection to the Qur’an and the Ahlul Bayt (a). Through daily guidance and school-wide initiatives, our students are instilled with a strong sense of social responsibility and service. Your generosity directly supports the education and mentorship of the children in our community. Our total fundraising goal is $100,000, which will help sustain and strengthen our school’s programs and services.
