I am reaching out on behalf of my brother Eduardo and his wife Evelyn, who are facing the most difficult battle of their lives.

Eduardo (Eddie) has been courageously battling acute myeloid leukemia (AML) since May of last year, enduring six intensive rounds of chemotherapy, numerous hospital stays due to complications, and a bone marrow transplant. We had so much hope—but sadly, the leukemia returned. He is now preparing for a second transplant, which is his best chance at survival.

Since his diagnosis, Eduardo’s wife, Evelyn, has been his full-time caregiver, supporting him through the grueling treatments while also caring for their two children and their dog. This journey has not only taken an emotional toll, but also a significant financial one. They are essentially managing two households — one near the hospital and one back home so the children can continue attending school — all while Eduardo has been unable to work since his diagnosis.

Their strength is unwavering, but the reality is that the financial strain has become overwhelming. They have always been the kind of people to give to others, and now they need our help.

I am humbly asking for donations to help Eduardo and Evelyn cover the cost of medical expenses, travel, temporary housing near the hospital, household expenses, and basic needs during this critical time. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward easing their financial burden so they can focus on what matters most: Eduardo’s fight for his life.

Queridos amigos, familiares y personas de gran corazón:

Me dirijo a ustedes en nombre de mi hermano Eduardo y su esposa Evelyn, quienes están enfrentando la batalla más difícil de sus vidas.

Eduardo (Eddie) ha estado luchando valientemente contra la leucemia mieloide aguda (LMA) desde mayo del año pasado, soportando seis intensas rondas de quimioterapia, numerosas hospitalizaciones debido a complicaciones y un trasplante de médula ósea. Tuvimos mucha esperanza, pero lamentablemente la leucemia regresó. Ahora se está preparando para un segundo trasplante, que es su mejor oportunidad de sobrevivir.

Desde su diagnóstico, su esposa Evelyn ha sido su cuidadora de tiempo completo, apoyándolo durante los duros tratamientos mientras también cuida de sus dos hijos y su perro. Este camino no solo ha sido una enorme carga emocional, sino también un gran peso financiero. Prácticamente están manteniendo dos hogares: uno cerca del hospital y otro en casa para que los niños puedan seguir asistiendo a la escuela, todo mientras Eduardo no ha podido trabajar desde que recibió su diagnóstico.

Su fortaleza es inquebrantable, pero la realidad es que la carga económica se ha vuelto abrumadora. Siempre han sido personas que ayudan a los demás, y ahora necesitan nuestra ayuda.

Les pido humildemente que consideren hacer una donación para ayudar a Eduardo y Evelyn a cubrir los gastos médicos, de viaje, de alojamiento temporal cerca del hospital, gastos del hogar y necesidades básicas durante este momento tan crítico.
