In 2024, Eduard, a devoted father of four, felt called to relocate his family to Florida in search of a stronger, more family-oriented community for his two youngest children. Little did he know that God had a greater purpose: bringing him close to his younger brother, Michael, in a time of desperate need.

Michael, a loving young father of eight, received devastating news on January 5, 2025—he was diagnosed with Crescentic IgA Nephropathy, a rare and aggressive form of kidney disease that rapidly led to complete kidney failure in both kidneys. The diagnosis shattered his world, bringing tears to his parents, siblings, his pregnant wife, and their seven beautiful children. Overnight, their close-knit family faced an unimaginable crisis.

For over a year, Michael endured immense suffering. With kidney function dropping to just 3%, he required multiple surgeries and painful dialysis treatments. As the sole provider for his large family, he fought every day to stay strong. Miraculously, after three months in the hospital, God gave him the strength to return to work despite his condition. But when his kidney function fell to 1%, doctors determined a kidney transplant was his only hope for survival.

Because Michael's IgA Nephropathy has no cure and carries a high risk of rejecting a deceased donor kidney, the best path forward was a living donor transplant. That's when God called on Eduard—his older brother—to step forward in an act of profound love and sacrifice.

Out of deep faith, brotherly devotion, and unwavering commitment to family, Eduard underwent extensive testing. After nearly six months, the incredible news came: Eduard was a perfect match. On January 13, 2026, the brothers underwent the life-saving kidney transplant surgery. It was a resounding success—Michael's body fully accepted the kidney. This is nothing short of a miracle, a testament to faith, love, and the unbreakable bond between brothers.

However, the road to full recovery has been challenging. Both Eduard and Michael are now facing unexpected post-transplant complications that are slowing their healing.

Eduard is battling inflammation and shortness of breath, while Michael is dealing with infections and uncontrollable high blood pressure from immune suppressant medications. He also requires one more surgery to remove his peritoneal dialysis catheter. Doctors estimate Eduard's recovery and return to work will take 6–8 weeks, and Michael's full recovery could take up to a year, with ongoing work restrictions.

The transplant surgery itself (valued at nearly $500,000) was covered by insurance—a huge blessing—but the aftermath has created heavy financial burdens. Both brothers are unable to work for an extended period, leaving them without income to cover everyday bills, mortgage/rent, groceries, and mounting medical follow-ups.

Currently, to stay just 7 minutes from the hospital for emergency access and frequent check-ups, they are staying in a hotel for at least three weeks (possibly longer). These unexpected costs—hotel stays, gas, meals, and more—are adding significant stress during what should be a time of healing and gratitude.

Eduard and Michael are strong, faithful men who have always provided for their families. Now, they need our help to protect this miracle and ease the burden so they can focus on recovery without the weight of financial worry impacting their health.

Your support will directly help cover lost wages, hotel and travel expenses, household bills, and ongoing medical needs for both brothers and their families (including Michael's wife and eight children, and Eduard's wife and four children).

Please keep Eduard and Michael in your prayers for complete healing and strength. If you're able, any donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference and help lift this burden from two brothers who have given so selflessly.

From one brother in Christ,

Camilo
