Our dear friend and colleague Edson Majiliwa passed away suddenly on November 5, 2025. This was a heartbreaking loss to his family and to all of us who knew him. Edson was a joyful jokester with quick wit, who was also incredibly hard-working and always working toward a goal. He was also a devoted father and husband to his family.

Edson left behind his wife Julieth (Mama Laurensia), his 13-month-old baby girl Brightness, his 13-year-old son Brown, his 14-year-old daughter Laurensia, and his 22-year-old son Brian.

I recently visited Edon's family in Ngara and paid respects at his gravesite at his home. Edson's wife and children are grieving, but they are doing ok. There is a severe lack of resources with Edson gone, the bread winner of the family. As resources are stretched thin even for covering basic needs, there is a danger that Edson's kids will not be able to achieve their educational goals which they had been planning.

The family requested my support to help fund raise to help Brian, Laurensia and Brown to advance their studies. Below are description of the educational goals the kids are pursuing for which support is needed.

Brian

Brian Edson Biharagu is 22 years old. He was born on November 3, 2003. He is now studying at Mvumi University at Dodoma. He is studying to be a doctor. There is a resource gap to pay the college tuition for his final year.

Laurensia

"My name is Laurensia Edson, Age 14, I go to Muyenzi Secondary School, Form 1, January 2026 Form 2. My favorite subject is Physics (and science subjects) and I want to be a doctor.

My favorite color is purple, favorite food is pizza and my favorite song in Amanda. I like to draw, to use the computer, I like a country called U.S.A. and I like ice cream."

There is a resource gap to pay Laurensia's boarding fees and transportation for school for 2 years.

Brown

"My name is Brown Edson Biharagu. I am 13 years old. I am going to Kayongo Secondary School. I am starting Form 1 in 2026.

My favorite subject is chemistry. The work which I like is Business. I was also born on 24th November 2012."

There is a resource gap to pay Brown's boarding fees and transport for 4 years.

Brightness

Brightness Edson Biharagu is 13 months old. She was born on January 16th, 2025.

Because she was born into Edson's family we expect she will have big dreams and work hard to make them happen just like Edson. She also needs our extra support.

Mama Laurensia

Edson's widow, Mama Laurensia has a big responsibility in the absence of Edson, to take care of the whole family while the whole family. She needs our extra support.
