Our friend Ed is in need of some help. He HATES asking for help, but it's becoming a desperate situation. He's a hard working fella, a father of two amazing girls, and a good friend. So here's a word from him:

Hello, My name is Ed Bierling and I need some help. I have the terminal, incurable disease of advanced Emphysema, small spots of lung cancer, heart and GI issues that leave me incapable of regular work. I'm 66, on minimal Social Security due to a life time of working unseen in various fields of the Entertainment business: roadie, concert production, film and music video work as an electrician that didn't always make the $ deposits into SS it should have! Plus MANY years of social and environmental activism. So I am trying to live on $13,000/yr with a dog and a bird.

Currently I live in an abandoned 5th wheel on a ranchers property but I am now being asked to leave so they can develop the land. It took me years to establish the 3 specialist in Sonoma County that are keeping me alive. If I move away I will lose them, and reestablishing those doctors somewhere else probably wouldn't happen in time. I gotta stay here to live.

My doctors tell me this is a death sentence if I am living on the streets. I can't go to shelters because of respiratory diseases and TB that are rampant in those housing situations. So the only thing I can figure that will work for me is a large RUNNING van or small RV that I can make into a home. The uglier the better lol.

That would entail raising enough $$ to purchase said vehicle, plates and insurance for a year.
