Support Ed’s Fight Against a Rare and Aggressive Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

We’re writing to ask for your help for someone incredibly special to us — Ed Pedrys — who is currently facing the toughest battle of his life.

Ed has been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer that affects just 1.5 people per 100,000 each year. At not even 30 years old, Ed has received the devastating news that, without treatment, his life expectancy is just two years.

But there is hope.

Ed is now preparing for a bone marrow transplant — the only potential cure for his condition. It’s a high-risk, complex procedure that starts with being admitted to UPenn for days of radiation and chemo before the transplant. Following a long 45+ day admission after the transplant, once discharged home Ed will still have 6+ months of isolation and recovery since his immune system will be compromised. It sure seems like a lot of risks, but it offers the best possibility of a future for Ed and Allie. Throughout Ed's complex medical journey, Allie's devotion to being his full-time caretaker is unwavering.

We’ve started this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden as Ed was the sole provider for their household. We want Ed and Allie to focus fully on his recovery.
