Support Edmund Adja-Hosi’s Quest for a Kidney transplant

Hi, On behalf of Juniper Tree (WWW.JUNIPERTREEGHANA.ORG), we (Leonora Amponsah-Asante and Eric Ohene) are fundraising for Edmund Adja-Hosi (A current PhD student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who was a colleague ).

Mr Edmund Adja-Hosi is a 34-year-old male diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease complicated by systemic hypertension and has been seen at the Kidney Specialist Centre from 5th June 2023 till date.

He was initiated on haemodialysis on 4th October 2023 when he developed Kidney failure complicated by uraemic symptoms via a tunnelled dialysis catheter.

He is currently on dialysis twice a week via an AV fistula and had been counselled for kidney transplantation which has been shown to be better in terms of cost in the long run, associated

with improved survival and better quality of life as compared to haemodialysis.

He currently has a potential donor who has been worked up for his kidney transplantation and found to be a perfect match for him. He is expected to get the kidney transplant in India.

The cost of the kidney transplantation including sessions of dialysis, transplant work-up and medications needed for the transplantation during his stay is about £45,000.

Therefore, we kindly seek about 1200 committed individuals who can kindly and graciously contribute at least $52.00 or £40.00 or Ghc 800.00
