As some of you may know—or may not—my father-in-law, Mr. Edmond Stein, was recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) that has already spread to his lungs (confirmed by biopsy) and possibly his throat (biopsy pending).

This is not his first battle with cancer. Not his second. Not even his third. This is his fourth. Mr. Edmond has beaten throat cancer twice and prostate cancer once. This time, however, is different. This is his first experience with kidney cancer and the first time it has metastasized. While it is not considered curable, with the right treatment it can be slowed and, prayerfully, stopped from spreading further.

He is understandably nervous—but he is also hopeful. He is a fighter. There is no doubt about that. Unfortunately, his finances are not as strong as his determination to continue living a full and meaningful life. His treatments begin Tuesday, January 6th, and between hospital visits, testing, treatments, medications, and ongoing care, the financial burden is expected to be overwhelming for both him and his wife, Mrs. Sherie.

Mr. Edmond is the kind of man who has always worked hard to provide for his family and has never hesitated to help others when they were in need. Asking for help does not come easily to him—but right now, he needs it.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the stress of mounting medical expenses so he can focus on what truly matters: fighting this cancer and spending precious time with the people he loves—his wife, his children, and grandchildren.
