From Struggle to Study Abroad: Support My Dream
Donation protected
I chose work over sports scholarships to support my family. Now, I need help reaching the next step.
Help Me Study Abroad and Achieve My Dream.
Hi, my name is Ed’Jerrica Spencer, and I’m reaching out with hope in my heart and a dream I’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve. I’m a high student with a 4.3 GPA, and I’ve recently been accepted into a college study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic. This is an incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and build a future that once felt out of reach.
But getting here hasn’t been easy.
My father passed away when I was young, and my mother, a breast cancer survivor now living on a fixed income due to disability, has raised me with strength and love. My siblings have helped support me every step of the way, contributing what they can to help with personal and household expenses. While I had the opportunity to play sports and potentially earn scholarships, I chose to work instead to help ease the burden on my family and contribute however I could.
Even through these challenges, I’ve stayed committed to my education. And now, I’ve been given the chance to study abroad, a dream I never thought would come true. This opportunity means everything to me, and I’m doing everything possible to make it happen.
I’ll graduate from high school on May 22, my late father’s birthday. This will be a full-circle moment that reminds me of why I’m pushing so hard to make him proud and to carry on the legacy of perseverance and love he left behind.
Your donation will help cover:
• Travel and relocation expenses
• Tuition and academic fees
• Housing and living essentials
• Books and school supplies
Every donation, regardless of size, brings me one step closer to a future where I can continue my education, give back to my community, and one day take care of my mom the way she’s always cared for me.
If you can’t give, please consider sharing my story—your support means the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read and believing in my future.
With heartfelt gratitude, Ed’Jerrica Spencer
