Hello, my name is Adrianny Torrealba, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my beloved grandmother, Edith Davila, who is 80 years old and currently living in Venezuela. She is the heart of my family, a woman who has spent her entire life caring for others, helping our community, putting other people’s needs ahead of her own, and raising me, my sibling, and my cousin, whose only support system in Venezuela is our grandma.
Right now, she is at a time in her life when she needs help.
My grandma is suffering from a serious medical condition that has made it impossible for her to eat. It has been a month since she has been able to eat solid food. At 80 years old, not being able to eat properly is incredibly dangerous. She is becoming weaker, losing weight, and her health is declining. Last month we paid for 3 different medical procedures to be done so she could solve the problem, however, they were not successful. Doctors have told us she urgently needs surgery to correct the problem and give her the chance to regain her strength and quality of life.
Watching someone who has shown me and the rest of my family the joy that comes from being strong and independent slowly lose herself is heartbreaking. She deserves comfort, dignity, and the chance to enjoy her life without living in fear or pain.
Unfortunately, the cost of surgery, hospital care, medications, and recovery treatment in Venezuela is far beyond what our family can afford on our own. Access to medical care is challenging, and everything must be paid upfront.

Ella es el corazón de mi familia, una mujer que ha pasado toda su vida cuidando de los demás, ayudando a nuestra comunidad, poniendo las necesidades de otras personas antes que las suyas y criándome a mí, a mi hermano y a mi primo, cuyo único apoyo en Venezuela es nuestra abuela.
En este momento, ella se encuentra en una etapa de su vida en la que necesita ayuda.
Mi abuela está sufriendo de una condición médica grave que le ha hecho imposible comer. Ya ha pasado un mes desde que puede ingerir alimentos sólidos. A sus 80 años, no poder alimentarse adecuadamente es extremadamente peligroso. Se está debilitando, perdiendo peso y su salud está deteriorándose. El mes pasado pagamos tres procedimientos médicos diferentes para intentar resolver el problema, sin embargo, no tuvieron éxito. Los médicos nos han dicho que necesita una cirugía urgente para corregir la condición y darle la oportunidad de recuperar su fuerza y calidad de vida.
Es devastador ver cómo alguien que me ha enseñado a mí y a toda mi familia la alegría de ser fuerte e independiente va perdiéndose poco a poco. Ella merece comodidad, dignidad y la oportunidad de disfrutar su vida sin vivir con miedo o dolor.
Lamentablemente, el costo de la cirugía, la hospitalización, los medicamentos y el tratamiento de recuperación en Venezuela está muy por encima de lo que nuestra familia puede cubrir por sí sola. El acceso a la atención médica es complicado y todo debe pagarse por adelantado.
