Hi, this is Avraham Katz. My mother, Edith Katz, unfortunately, had a major stroke around a month and a half ago, on June 1st, while visiting family in Postville, Iowa. When she had the stroke, she was taken by helicopter to a hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Thank G-d, she survived the stroke, and has started the recovery process. Unfortunately, she is half paralyzed, with other medical conditions resulting from the stroke. We need to transfer her to a rehabilitation facility to help her regain whatever we can in terms of her ability to function, both physically and mentally. The family has decided upon a rehab facility in Avon, Ohio, which is near my brother, Baruch Katz and his family, who live in Cleveland, Ohio.
Unfortunately, her insurance will not cover the cost of the transportation to bring her safely from La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Avon, Ohio. We will need to pay out of pocket for the transport. The lowest offer I could find to do the transport safely and with a medical staff on board was around $6,500.
We need to raise, at the very least, $7000 to pay for the transport for my mother. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated, tizke lemitzvos!
May G-d send a complete recovery to my mother, Hinda Sara the daughter of Chaya Itta, together with all those that need a recovery, and we should be able give good news with Hashem's help!
