UPDATE:

Dear Friends and Family,

It is will deep sadness, unbelievable grief and so much love that I let you know that Edie entered Hospice care in her home 3 weeks ago. After attempts at 4 different chemo treatments, the cancer won. Yes, F#$K Cancer for taking our beautiful Edie; the present and loving mom, the most gracious friend, and my everything-to-me soul sister.

Hospice is a beautiful thing. She is set up in comfort in her living room and her pain is being managed as best as possible. There are caregivers, family and friends all taking shifts and turns to care for her, visit with her and love on her. She has bouts of energy and joy, and bouts of sadness and pain; but she is surrounded by love.

This has been an expensive journey, and so now we are reaching out for help with the end of life expenses. We need help paying for the caregivers and her memorial and then anything left will go to Sophie and Charlie as they navigate the next year. Charlie will finish his senior year of high school; and it would be nice for Sophie to be able to take some time off of work.

With so much gratitude for what you've already given, for your visits, for your words of love and support. And so much gratitude in advance, for the relief you can help to give Edie's family at this time. Any amount is helpful, as it all adds up.
