Help Edie Honor William's Memory and Rebuild Life in Selah

Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of William's passing on April 29th, 2025. At just 59 years young, his loss has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, especially his beloved wife, my mom, Edie. Their home and life together were in Selah, Washington.

The past four months have been an incredibly arduous journey for my mom. In December, William suffered a serious stroke and was life-flighted to Tacoma, Washington, for critical care. After showing some progress, he was transferred to Avalon Rehab in Pasco. Tragically he contracted Covid and he suffered a second stroke and was then moved to a hospital in Pasco for further care. Thankfully, in his final week, William was able to return to Yakima and receive compassionate palliative and hospice care at Willow Springs, where my mom was able to spend precious time with him.

Now, amidst this profound grief and the immense challenges of the past 4+ months, Edie is facing the immediate financial burden of William's cremation. As William was the primary provider, and with my mom's own health preventing her from working while she awaits the approval of her Social Security benefits, she has no savings to cover this unexpected expense. Adding to this hardship, my mom has also lost her home in Selah and is currently staying with her supportive best friends.

We are reaching out to our community, friends, and family in Yakima and beyond to ask for your compassionate support. Your generous contributions will go directly towards covering the cost of William's cremation, allowing my mom to honor his memory.

Beyond the immediate need for cremation funds, Edie faces an uncertain future as she waits for her Social Security to be approved and begins to rebuild her life after these devastating losses, needing support to remain connected. Any additional funds raised will provide crucial support for her essential needs during this transition, helping her with things like groceries, personal care items, and possible future housing as she navigates this new chapter.

William was a kind soul, a loving partner, and someone who always made us laugh. We are so grateful that my mom was able to be with him in his final week in Yakima. Let's come together to support her during this incredibly painful time and help ease her financial burden so she can focus on healing and eventually returning to her life or recreating it.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Please share this campaign with your network, especially those in the Yakima area.

With heartfelt gratitude
