It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Edgardo Rivera Sr., also known as Papi. Edgardo was a bright spark in the world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many and it would be an honor to help the family in this time of need.

He was a loving and funny father, a caring and compassionate grandpa, and a good friend to have. He always had a smile on his face when he greeted you, regardless of what was going on in his life. He is someone who will truly be missed, for the love he shared and the many laughs he gave.

I remember him coming to my house many times, always doing things for the kids. He once stayed over for more than a week, even though it was “too quiet” because we lived in Blackwood. He made that sacrifice to help redo both of my kid’s rooms, because that was the kind of person he was. He loved all his kids—none of them were “step-kids,” they all belonged to him. Edgardo’s kindness and generosity touched everyone around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
