We are creating this GoFundMe in support of our beloved family member, Edgar Rangel.

Edgar is a devoted husband and a loving father to two young daughters, with another baby girl on the way. He is a hardworking provider who is always there for his family.

On Wednesday, January 21st, Edgar received sudden, life-changing news. Doctors discovered a large, non-cancerous tumor in his head, roughly finger-sized in scale, with hemorrhaging inside the tumor. This has caused dangerous pressure, leaving no additional room in the surrounding area. Because of the tumor’s size, the internal bleeding, and the symptoms it has caused including significant vision loss doctors determined that the situation was urgent and could not be delayed.

Due to his condition and vision loss, Edgar has been unable to work or drive.

Edgar is scheduled to undergo surgery on February 13th to begin removing the tumor. He is expected to be hospitalized for at least a week and will need a minimum of six weeks off work to recover, with the possibility of additional time depending on his healing process. This also means that his wife, Sara will be missing work to support him through it all. 

While Edgar does have medical insurance, he has a very high deductible and will be responsible for significant out-of-pocket expenses, including multiple medical appointments, surgery, hospitalization, and ongoing care. In addition to these medical costs, his family must continue to manage the everyday expenses of life during the time he is unable to work, all while preparing to welcome a new baby.
