For those of you who know me, you know there is always Eden right there too. Since our freshman year of college, we’ve been completely inseparable. From day one, we have had a type of friendship where life just doesn’t happen without the other person being part of it. Even being many miles apart, Eden is my best friend in every sense, and truly the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, no questions asked.

Last week, Eden went to the hospital after getting over a really bad case of the flu. After being sent home, things took a turn and another hospital visit became necessary. Right now, Eden is in the ICU, dealing with a blood clot in the jugular vein, multiple blood transfusions due to extremely low platelets, and fighting a really serious infection that ENT and infectious disease specialists are still trying to figure out.

Eden is one of the strongest people I know, but this is a lot. This whole situation is scary and overwhelming. On top of everything, Eden is starting a master’s program at the end of the summer, along with moving. Being in the hospital also means limited income right now and no ability to keep up with work, and without health insurance from a new job, coverage isn’t in place yet.

I’m raising money to help cover hospital bills and to provide some supplemental income while Eden focuses on recovering in the ICU and hopefully soon out of the hospital.

If you know Eden, you know how amazing and selfless Eden is. Right now, any support would mean so much to help get through this and bring some stability during such a difficult time.

Update 4/7: The doctors believe it is a rare, life-threatening condition called Lemmiere Syndrome. There will be a long road to recovery, but Eden is fighting with remarkable strength through this.
