My husband, Eddie, has been diagnosed with histoplasmosis, a very fungal infection that requires hospitalization and weeks of IV treatment in hospital. This is a bad case complicated by his type 1 diabetes status and kidney transplant. Right now it is attacking his whole body. We are in critical care at Vandy and will be here for weeks.
Because we work together and our workplace does not offer sick pay or vacation pay, we have already been without income for two weeks, and expect to be out for at least another two weeks while Eddie heals and receives his infusions. The financial strain of missing work, combined with mounting medical expenses, has made this time even more difficult. We are doing everything we can to stay strong and positive, but we know we can’t do this alone.
If you feel led to help financially, we have set up this fundraiser to help cover our basic living and medical expenses during this time. If you’re not able to give, we ask just as sincerely for your prayers for healing, strength, and peace. We truly believe in the power of prayer and know that God meets us through the love and care of others. Please share this with anyone who may be able to help, especially those who have lived through histoplasmosis and can offer advice or prayers. Thank you for lifting us up in any way—by donating, sharing, or praying. All of it means more than we can express. God bless you!
