Eddie is a hard worker who is devoted to helping his friends and family. He would genuinely give the shirt off his back for anyone without hesitation. He would never ask anyone for help, but right now his family is asking on his behalf because Eddie is facing serious medical challenges due to complications from diabetes and needs a lifesaving procedure. Eddie has worked hard his entire life, spending more than 30 years as a certified welder and mechanic. He is a graduate of Minuteman Tech, Class of 1988. He has built his life around family, friends, hard work, and doing right by others. Growing up in Lexington and Waltham, Eddie became known locally as someone always willing to lend a hand and help however he could, even if he had just met you.
Over the past several months, Eddie’s health has taken a serious turn. After developing diabetes, he has faced multiple complications, including pneumonia and now fluid in his lungs, which has put significant strain on his heart. He has spent the last 6 plus months going in and out of the hospital, often pushing through and trying to keep working even when he was not feeling well. Doctors have now determined that Eddie needs open heart surgery to repair multiple blockages. The good news is that his prognosis is positive, but his recovery will be long and he will be unable to work for some time. Right now, Eddie has limited health insurance, which makes this situation even more overwhelming. He is facing major medical bills along with everyday living expenses and no income while he heals.
