On Friday September 2nd the unimaginable happened. After leaving his workout because he was not feeling well, Eddie was found unresponsive in his car. He was taken to the local hospital where they confirmed he had suffered a major stroke. He was then moved by ambulance to a bigger hospital in Oklahoma City, where the doctors were able to see the severity of the damage done. The stroke affected the left side of his brain, leaving him unable to move the right side of his body and unable to speak. They also ran tests to confirm that his brain was starting to swell. The decision was made to remove a sizable piece of his skull on the left side of his head in order to give his brain room to swell without damaging anymore brain tissue. Thankfully Eddie came through the surgery successfully, but now must begin the long road to recovery. He will most likely remain in the hospital for another 1-2 weeks while he recovers from the intense surgery. In true Eddie fashion, he is making sure the nursing staff and family with him know exactly what he does not like, by kicking his left leg around and using his now freakishly strong left arm to pull on or out tubes and things he doesn’t want. After his stay at the hospital, he will hopefully be able to move into a residential rehabilitation facility to help him begin to regain his ability to talk and the use of his right side. Thankfully Eddie does have health insurance, but as most know there will be multiple bills to multiple places by the time this is done. Eddie is a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Our hope and our faith is that Eddie will overcome his injuries and we will get him back to 100%. Anything contributed will go towards helping offset medical expenses incurred, paying for therapies insurance won’t cover, and helping his beautiful wife Jenny sustain their home and children while Eddie is away from them and unable to work. We’re so thankful for all the love, support, messages, and prayers pouring in from everyone who loves him like we do.
