Hello, some of you may already know us! For those of you who don't know us, we are a young couple going on nine years now. Things have not been easy for a long time. I'm sure many of you can relate to our struggles, so I only ask that if you cannot donate, please share this around! We are still without our license and a vehicle, but we can get rides here and there thanks to some family and friends. I am not able to work currently, but I have provided by selling writing commissions and selling trading cards on my Mercari shop. I have no transportation to a job. My partner was thankfully able to secure a job, but the pay is only $9 an hour and he is only able to work four days a week. This is due to lack of transportation and colliding with our families' and friends' work schedules and lives. We are hoping to obtain our license by the end of summer and then save towards a car. With how things are going with transportation, we worry how much longer he will be able to keep working at his current job. This is no one's fault, we just have not been dealt the best cards and have been in a tough spot for a while now. We know so many others are in the same spot, or much worse off, and we are incredibly grateful for our blessings even when things feel hopeless. Clayton and I are so thankful towards our lovely family and friends who help us the best that they can.
Unfortunately, we are in such a situation right now that we are desperately living paycheck to paycheck. Family from both sides and a close friend have graciously helped us with receiving food and essentials, and now thanks to a special person seemingly sent by God, we should be able to cover our rent! However, our power is due to disconnect, but we are going to try and get it extended and do our best to figure it out. We are asking for help for our kitty Calliope. Calliope was given to me by an old dear friend from my first ever job at a Wendy's, back in 2018. Since then, Calliope has been our loyal companion. If you have met Calliope, you know she carries an intense gaze about her striking yellow-green eyes. She seems intimidating... but in actuality, she is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet! Calliope tends to get jealous around other animals and will make sure it's her you're loving on! Quite literally, she will already have jumped in your lap and started making biscuits. Calliope is such a loving baby, and she always communicates through her eyes. She is such a good cat.
Recently, two days ago after eating a portion of wet kitty food, we saw her tongue sticking out and she was drooling. Calliope has an abscessed tooth on the top right that is coming out and the vet said she would have to be on antibiotics before an extraction could happen. Thankfully, by the grace of God, family was able to help us get the antibiotics, and Calliope has had two doses so far. At first, we were very worried because she wasn't wanting to eat much at all, understandably so with her being in pain. However, with the antibiotics helping with the inflammation, Calliope was able to eat a can of Fancy Feast with little to no problem!
After talking on the phone with the vet we will be going to, we were able to get an estimate. The estimated total is $477.
- Visit - $45
- Mandatory rabies shot - $75
- Bloodwork/other - $112
They want us to bring her in for a visit for all of this as soon as possible, and so would we. We can't cover the expenses on our own, unfortunately. We did try to discuss a payment plan but were told over the phone that they don't offer that. Again, we are in a very tough predicament. We want to fight for her the best that we can, and yes, we have tried to rehome her for we feel it is best for her. We no longer have the funds to take her to get the help she deserves. I will sell the rest of my belongings if need be. We ask you to please donate if able, even a dollar helps out so much. Please, we beg, share this GoFundMe for Calliope, even if we are at odds or don't know each other. This is for her. Please share and please keep us in your prayers.
Thank you for reading. Much love, Eddie and Audrey.
