UPDATE:

Dad has had small naps for about 1/2 hour to an hour and is waking up easier as of yesterday. I FaceTimed and he talked to me! Cherry was right by him and said, “he's on the mend!” Dad repeated, “I'm on the mend!” He also said “yes” when Cherry asked if he knew he got real sick in Mexico. He told me he loved me when we hung up. The nurses and doctors are working diligently day and night, and Cherry is right by his side. ❤️ Thank you for all of your prayers!!!

Please consider helping my parents during this difficult time in their lives. Thank you and please shareHello Family and Friends,
For those of you who don't know what's been going on, my dad has been very sick and was transferred back into the ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital early this morning.
It all began while they were on a golf adventure in Cancun on January 22nd. The following Saturday, he felt a cold coming on. As a result of his symptoms, my stepmom Cherry had him rushed to the hospital where he remained in the ICU sedated and ventilated for 7 days. They finally got a hospital bed in the US and he was transported via air ambulance to Portland, Oregon on February 2. Dad remained in the ICU for another 5 days. The diagnosis was Influenza virus 4, and Pneumonia caused by aspiration. They are calling his very slow recovery hospital delirium which they believe is a result of the amount and length of sedation he was given. As of this morning, he’s back in the ICU and the neurologist will be doing an EEG.
Cherry has been and will be right by his side every step of the way. The unexpected hotel expenses are beginning to add up, and not knowing when they will be back home has been very difficult emotionally and especially financially. Our days are filled with prayers and conversations with God. Our hearts are heavy, but our hope is strong that he will fully recover and this difficult time will be in our past soon. We ask for you help and support during this difficult time. Your prayers for my dad Ed Ouellette, his wife Cherry Ouellette, mother Joyce Ouellette, myself, and all of our family are very appreciative right now. Thank you, Jaimie
