Support Ed Mooney's Battle with Severe Health Issues

My name is Randy Hershoff and I am raising funds for Ed Mooney, a work associate who is experiencing the perfect storm of bad luck affecting his health and my heart goes out to him.
Ed was diagnosed with being diabetic March 4th of this year as he was admitted to RI Hospital while being in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. He spent 5 days in the hospital as they worked to get his blood glucose and electrolytes under control. He then returned to work, while trying hard to control his newly diagnosed Diabetes.
On April 15th, he then suffered a heart attack, which was the first of three in a 10-day span. The most significant of the three was on the 16th of April, while he was, thankfully still in the hospital. He received four cardiac stents during that hospitalization with a scheduled second round of stents to be done three weeks later. However, the following week he had the third of his heart attacks, and he had two cardiac stents placed at that time.
While these health issues were occurring, Ed also developed severe Neuropathy, which is damage to the nerves typically caused by circulation issues often coinciding with being diabetic. He now suffers from both Diabetic and Treatment Induced Neuropathy. Being diabetic caused some of his Neuropathy, but treating his Diabetes aggressively also caused further nerve damage. The Neuropathy first started to affect his feet and lower legs as numbness and loss of sensation to outside touch, while also causing constant debilitating pain. It then began to present in his hands and arms following the same pattern. Recently it is affecting his ribs and torso as well. He has attempted and is continuing to attempt various treatments while on a very large medication regimen. This has affected every aspect of his life and will continue to for the foreseeable future.
His formal diagnosis is Severe Sensory Motor Polyneuropathy, and it affects him from the neck down. He lives every day in pain of varying degrees, which never goes away. Because it is sensory motor, it affects both his sensation and ability to feel outside touch, and it also affects his motor skills and balance. He currently walks with the assistance of a cane to mitigate some of the risk of falling and to steady himself. He has been unable to work since April, with the 13th being the last day he was able to.
He continues to maintain his diabetic control, has completed Cardiac Rehab and continues to work towards improving his cardiac health, and is continuing in his daily efforts to fight and get the Neuropathy under control through many, various treatments.
For anyone who might feel comfortable donating to Ed's cause, please do. He currently has three of his five kids attending college, and due to this situation, there are also incredibly substantial medical bills due as well. There is also a treatment option, which may be of benefit that would require travel and time out of state. This treatment option would be an out-of-pocket expense as it is not covered by insurance, but it has shown some promise in others who have similarities in their condition. He remains hopeful that he may regain some bits of what he was previously capable of.
Right now, he certainly doesn't want to be in this situation and would definitely hate to admit this, but he could very much use help.
