Hello, everyone. I'm Jessica, Ed's daughter. For those who may not know, my dad is currently battling AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). I've started this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad in the hope of relieving the financial stress of a single-income household as my mom, Theresa, and other family members care for him during his stay at The City of Hope in Duarte, CA. All donations will be provided to fund gas, groceries, their housing at the hotel at City of Hope when he's not in the hospital, and medication that is not covered by insurance during the duration of his treatment.

If you know my parents, you know they don't like asking for help, let alone financial help. Yet, they're the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. As we've been going through this cancer journey by my dad's side, my goal is to have my parents not worry and stress about bills and instead, focus on his health.

His Leukemia journey:

He was diagnosed in 2023 with MLS (preleukemia), and has since gone through a Bone Marrow Cell Transplant, which unfortunately, he had relapsed within 6 months with the cancer returning. The chemo trials afterward sadly did not put him into remission. By the beginning of January 2025, his cancer had become aggressive. He went through another round of chemo at the beginning of June 2025, which ultimately resulted in us looking around for other treatments once we learned that Stanford no longer had any other options. Since mid-July, he's been hospitalized. On August 6th, we transported him directly to The City of Hope Cancer Center. He's currently going through a targeted chemo trial and is taking things day by day while there.

While we are hopeful this trial can help, things truly are unknown. As my mom and other family members will be caregiving for him while he stays at the City of Hope, any donations would be greatly appreciated, but so would a share of this fundraiser, and positive thoughts and prayers as we continue to be by my dad's side while he fights this aggressive cancer.

This journey has been hard and emotional for my family, but we are truly grateful to everyone for being there for us.
